Présentation du VSS Vintorez. Le VSS, ou Vintorez, est un fusil de précision à silencieux qui tire la puissante cartouche subsonique SP5 de 9x39 mm et la munition perforante SP6. Il a été conçu à la fin des années 1980 à TsNIITochMash et fabriqué à Tula à l'usine d'armement de Tula. Il est principalement utilisé par les unités Spetsnaz pour les missions d'infiltration, comme en témoigne sa capacité à être rangé dans une mallette spéciale pour le transport.
